Deschutes Imperial Smoked Porter

I enjoyed this limited-run dark beer out on the deck this evening. Imperial Smoked porter is a collaboration with Great Lakes Bewing Company and Deschutes Brewery. Deschutes is a name that is esteemed highly in my opinion due to their great Obsidian Stout and of course the famous Black Butte Porter, thusly I had high expectations for this "class of '88" 22-ouncer.

It didn't disappoint! A rich, wood-smoked flavor with quite a bit of sweetness, almost reminiscent of smoked ham, comes to meet you in this full-bodied porter. The smokyness lingers in the aftertaste beckoning for another sip.

This brew gets an easy 7/10 Jonathan points.
